Research Group Operation Analysis

Objective workflow analysis provides data about the structure of work, which can form the basis of subsequent studies of occupational stress.  An advantage of objective observational workflow analyses over traditional survey studies is the ability to record quantitative data about processes, working conditions, tasks performed, distances travelled at work, and working times.

Paper-based workflow analysis are slow and cumbersome for the observer, therefore our institute developed a easy-to-use computer-based analysis tool.  With the Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC), observations of sequential and simultaneous tasks can be recorded automatically in real-time using a sensitive touch screen. Electronic data collection improves the speed of data acquisition and comparability of results.  Data can be automatically converted into graph form for easy analysis and visualization.
